Anyone else have problems with Logitech MX 500?

I recently bought a Logitech MX 500 and thought it was great. I could move the mouse around as fast as I could and it would skip at all. But then I started playing games with it and the thing started to suck bad!!! When ever I would pick the mouse up to drag and then set it down the thing would screw up and lose where it should be. I would get murdered in every game I played!! Very annoying. I am using a 3M precise mousing suface mouse pad so it shouldn't be the mouse pad causing problems. Anyone else have problems with the MX 500?

P.S. Anyone have these problems with the Microsoft Intelimouse? I'm thinking about returing the MX 500 and getting the Intelimouse. I've heard good things about it.
