Here is a good Tom's Harware link featuring the 6600 series in some competitive benchmarks:

The 6600 series does pretty well. Does anyone know of a tentative release date?

I played everything on my 9800 pro at max settings (including farcry and doom 3 demo) at max settings and never dropping below 25 fps during intense display. FPS usually in the 50-60 mark with settings as follow:
screen 1024 X 768 or 1280 x 1080
AA 2x AF 4x
vert. sync off
card settings to balanced with trueform off
fastwrite always off.

for 219$ i was suggesting someone (price was delivered to me by someone) original ATI built 9800 PRO 128MB.

the best choice if you want performance out of low investment.

here is the link to that discussion:

well nVidia is currently in lead, but this card is on PCIe, and you have AGP8X.

I have used ATI with your board, and performance is exceptional, as I have taht system now running in my next room with A7N8X and ATi 9800 PRO. my cousin plays FarCry on it, (usually calls out loud in excitement, challenging me to install Farcry on my machine and play network with him,,,,,,i'm not a gamer ) so he gets shutup in responce every time.
