Default amd processpr question

is it possible to use an AM2+ processor in a regular AM2 socket or does it have to be an AM2+ socket as well?

check on the manufacturer's page and see if the processor is supported.

AM2+ CPU's are designed to work in socket AM2, though the board needs to have a compatible BIOS. Not all motherboards have updated BIOS's for AM2+ CPU's (which is a fault of the board manufacturers really)
