Default AMD Architecture Question

I know that AMD uses an onboard memory controller in place of an off-CPU Northbridge. I also know that the Northbridge connects to the Southbridge, RAM, and Video Card.

What I dont understand is how an AMD system connects to the Video Card and Southbridge. Is there still a Northbridge that connects the Southbridge and Video Card to the CPU, while the on-die memory controller handles only the RAM?

This is just out of curiosity, by the way.

Yes, I did search Google and TF already

Send a message via AIM to Joeisalsocool

PCI-Express connects directly to the processor
the "northbridge" is also the southbridge so it also controls the other PCI slots.

Somebody correct me if im wrong, but I've done alot of reading on this.
