Im on stock.... But its a very good heatsink, has a copper base, and the rest is aluminum... it is kinda heavy though...

yeah, maybe you should get a new heatsink.. intel stock hsf are decent, but im not sure about AMD's
Im using the retail HSF and my current idle temps are 34 degrees C for my cpu

The athlon xp retail cooling was very bad but, they seem to have got alot better with the amd 64's.

I have a fan controller.

go into the ocguru and disable fan eq.
