Default Alienware’s New Curved Monitor

Alienware has slapped four monitors together to make one big, curved monitor that is supposedly aimed at the gaming crowd. Looks kinda cool though, don’t you think? Gizmodo has tons of pictures of the monitor posted, I snagged a few to whet your appetite:

We can’t have one of these Alienware curved monitors until the second half of this year, but until then, we’ve been abducted by its four nearly seamless and sharp screens of DLP goodness. Lit by LEDs, this 2880×900 monster is well over three feet wide and is said to have an other-worldly .02ms response time, great for gaming.

And the price tag?

My guess is in the thousands of dollars.

A nice idea, but a bit pricey. Ohwell. Hopefully things like this bring normal-sized monitor prices down

Asus P5E | Q6600 | 2x2GB Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066 | BFG 8800GTS | 5x1.5TB SATA2 | 2x500GB SATA2 in RAID1

well seeing as how it's Alienware it's going to cost at leasttwice as much as it would from a standard seller ( newegg, ebuyer, etc)

I'd say £ 1500-£2000 ($3000-4000)

Peripheral vision, nice...I would get one, if it weren't for the price. I wish it were flat panel though.

Yeah it looks pretty nice and it would be a good reason for quad SLI, however I would have to be able to afford the cards let alone the monitor.

who wants a 900 pixel height resolution for the amount they'll ask? images will be ridiculously distorted on that screen.
