You could buy an Alienware-identical machine for $1000 less, that's true...but with Alienware you get a $1000+ in quality, service and support!

I saw one of the the new Alienware cases on eBay a while back and it went for something like $350 just for the case.

The Alienware custom stuff is pretty covetted, and for a good reason. If you pay that kinda bucks for the mercades of computer makers, you're part of an exclusive "club" of onwers. Buying an Alienware and then transfering all the stuff into another case would be like buying a jaguar and cutting the hood-ornament off.
