alarm

Hello.
Can anybody give me any advise please. For some reason my computer has started making a noise like an alarm when it has been on for about half hour. If I turn the pc off and back on it starts again after half hour again. It has only done this for the last couple of weeks since I moved. It cant be over heating because it is in a better position than it was.
Any ideas please.

There are 3 things that could be making this noise, and it is failure warnings...

1. CPU Failing Temperature
2. CPU Fan Failing Alarm
3. System Fan Failing Alarm

It is one of those three, and I would say it would be the CPU fan, check and see if it runs, if it doesn't, that is the prob.

Since you're giving us no specs it's pretty much impossible to help you.

My guess is when you moved maybe your heatsink came loose, or your heat sink is failing in general and your cpu is overheating. Go into your BIOS, check your temps, then post back with that along with your system specs.
