advice on a tower please

Hi

I was thinking of getting an E-machine for 649 bucks..
160gb hard drive....g force4 64mb card built in but has agp slot 512mb of ram....athlon 3000+..

I was told that this is a poor performer for gaming..

i have a 700 dollor tower budget.

would i be better off with a cyber power pc or something you configure online..

its just that the e-machine has somme extras like a dvd and cd rw.

Just my opinoin, but I would steer clear of any and all eMachines. They have a bad track record, are hard to upgrade due to propriotary parts and they use cheap cheap cheap components.
