Hi,

I'm adding a second SATA drive to my HP machine.
When I put it in, it's recognized by BIOS, but either the DVDROM, CDROM, or both disappear from BIOS.

There are 4 SATA slots in the motherboard. SATA slot 1 is taken up by the primary drive. I've tried putting the second drive into slots 2, 3, or 4, but no matter where I put it, the one or both of the IDE drives (CD-ROM or DVD) go bye-bye.

The drive is a Maxtor jumperless SATA drive... anyone have any ideas what I'm missing here. Thanks.

look around on the bios make sure all jumpers are set correctly, take the 2nd SATA drive out and install any drivers/software for the drive, if none of this works call the drive support or your mobo support
