I have a Dell Latitude C800. The adapter worked fine for about three months, and lately I've been having more and more problems with it. At first it would go off on its own and I'd just unplug it and plug it back in and it would be fine. It started happening more and more frequently. Then I could get it to work only by plugging it into a different socket. Now it does the strangest thing. It will stay on if it's plugged into the wall but not into the computer if the computer is on. If the computer is off the adapter stays on, but how long will that last? If the computer is on and I plug in the adapter, it goes off after about two minutes while it is still plugged into the wall. I don't understand and it's very frustrating. I thought it might have something to do with the wall sockets, but this is ridiculous. I don't want to buy a new adapter right away if there's anything I can do to fix this one.
