Rule of thumb, solvents( i.e. acetone) = bad for monitor. Most monitors have a protective film layer on the screen, so if you use a solvent like acetone, it will eat right through that and damage the screen. Best to stay with a clean rag that is damp from water or some type of cleaning fluid you can find a computer store that is for monitors.
