I have only been using this monitor for a couple of weeks, since my 48inch HDTV overheated and the screen cracked, but it has been operating fine with a 1440x900 resolution up until last night. I was gaming normally, but suddenly my computer started shutting down and got the "Windows is updating" as it was shutting down. Whenever I booted it back up the monitor was not detected until proceeding to the logging on screen, and the resolution was very messed up. I have tried updating all my drivers, including both my graphics card and monitor driver, without any luck. I can get it to detect my broken TV in full 1080p, but the Acer p191w only displays as "Generic Non-PnP Monitor". I have done some research and have discovered it may be due to the EDID being corrupted or erased for the monitor. One of the solutions was to get the EDID settings from somebody with the same monitor but have come up with no solutions. Any help would be much appreciated.
