It seems that 9600GT SLI is 8.15% faster on average

Also, check this

It seems that 9600GT scales very well on SLI. In some cases it is more than 100%

Can't wait to see how two 9800GTX in SLI does.

although, I don't see what they did differently.. I mean, isn't the 9600GT still just a neutered G92?

I'd still like to see more numbers, particularly for Crysis..

Right, and to my understanding, the G94 is a neutered G92

Just a G92 with 64 shader processors... aside from the SLI performance, this seems to be holding true in benchmarks

IF the G94 is a completely new architecture, then why aren't they putting G94s with 128SPs into the 9800GX2... sometimes codenames can be dumb

and if its got half the sp's... then why is it performing so close to performance of the 8800gt.. they've obviously done something

i mean look at the g80's.. the 8800gts is a good number behind the gtx because of less shaders..... so why isnt this 9600 doing really bad?

I doubt it, the 9600GT is like 15% slower than the 8800GT, I wouldn't call that close. The only thing is the SLI... it just doesn't make any sense to me at all that they'd use the G92 cores for the 9800GX2 then... why not the G94 with 128SPs enabled... doesn't make sense at all :S
