Is there realy that much of a difference between 9600 9200 ati radeon is it worth the 100$ more considering i will need another upgrade soon becuase the new cards are coming out?

The 9600 performs significantly faster than the 9200, hence the price difference.

OH yeah!

The 9200 is the upgraded version of a 9000 which is basically an 8500.

The 9600 is a downgraded 9800, they differ in corespeed & rendering pipelines.

The difference:
9200 has an upgraded 8500 core
9600 a downgraded 9800 core.


9200 = directx 8.1 compatilbe
9600 = directx 9.0b compatible

9200 comes with 64`/128 mbs of ram
9600 comes with 128/256 mbs of DDR-Ram


It's worth the $100 If you wait, the 9600's go down in price as the next generation vid card is about to arrive....
