that's stupid as all hell dude.

Theres no point in going backwards with new technology.

The nf3 chipset and below can barely handle the 6xxx series muchless the 7xxx series...

They've got to cut off the AGP somewhere so that people can move it along...if you're still using AGP, then your parts will be limited for games anyway. There are some nice nf3 systems, but that nf3 chipset sucks with the 6xxx series as it is.

Dumbest petition ever

Besides the fact that I've yet to see any online petetion accomplish what they were fighting for

Like Nubius said you've got to cut cold turkey somewhere...PCI-E has been on the mainstream market for about a year now so this wasn't much of a suprise, and regardless of when they stopped producing AGP cards, you'd have people whining about it...guranteed even if they did start producing 7800GTXs in AGP, next generation you'd have people complaining about the 8800LEETra card not being AGP

if you can afford a 7800GTX, you can afford a PCI-E motherboard.

Well, since you guys are wussies, I'm gonna have to pack all my weapons and explosives, put on my special nerd camouflage and infiltrate into the super heavily guarded nVidia head quaters. Then we'll see who's got the agp production line active once again!!!

GeForce 8 series makes sense to cut AGP off because by that time, no gamer will still be using AGP who wants to have a high-end system, and it would be impractical because systems with AGP will be too old to be worth upgrading anyways. IMO, they should have produced the GeForce 7 series in AGP because at the time the 7800GT/GTX was released, there were still a lot of people using AGP, people who had excellent systems except needed a graphics card upgrade.

Nvidia though is not going to produce AGP 7800GTXs, because their whole theme this generation is promotion of SLI, and producing AGP 7800GTXs would give people reasons to hang on to their AGP motherboards therefore just buy one card instead of possibly two.

the wussie would be the guy who refuses to come to terms with the fact that something obsolete should no longer be sold.
