9800's are not bad cards at all. Yes the 6800 is a next-gen card, and you get performance for a hefty sum. If you're a hardcore gamer, get it. With your specs, you should be fine.

My friend runs this setup off a 350W Antec SmartBlue.

p4 3.0 northwood
1GB Geil Ram
36 GB Raptor
2 80GB Sata's
v9999 ultra ( the asus one, and yes it does require 2 molex connectors )
