6600GT Fan

I read that you can use nail polish remover to clean the surface before installing the card, is that okay? It'd save me from buying an arctic silver cleaner, which would be nice.

I have the Zalman VF700 fan and arctic silver 5 in my wish list at newegg.

I have a 6600GT.

Even though my temps are okay, do you think I should try and do this? I'm afraid of messing something up but I'm afraid the fan on this will go out cuz its making weird sounds.

It you really want to, put the new fan on there. You can also use rubbing alcohol to clean everything off. Higher the % of alcohol the better. Even is there is nothing wrong with the fan thats on the card now, getting the zalman would be a good upgrade. If you're into overclocking, you can push it a little futher. I want to get one, but I may end up getting a new card when prices drop some more.
