6600 better than GT?

Hi, I just got my new computer with a GeForce 6600GT 128mb but I saw that the 6600 has 256mb. What's up? Is the GT better? What makes it better?

The GT is better. Thats why its clocked higher and priced higher.

the non GT is a dumbed down version. The 256mb won't give it any kind of performance edge over the 128mb so dont worry about it. You bought the right one

System 1: Pentium IV 2.6 GHZ with 512 MB memory
System 2: Pentium III 650 MHz with 1024 MB memory

the extra 128MB isnt much, it helps for memory hungry games like doom3, but the 6600GT is much better.

its the clock speeds that make the difference

Also the normal 6600's have GDDR1 memory compered to the 6600GT's GDDR3 which is way faster and offers better overclocks.

that's a bad comparison, i'd much rather get the 2.6ghz p4. a better comparison would be amd vs. pentium. would you rather have a 2.6ghz amd or a 3.4ghz pentium?

That the entire point... you'll get the faster one, not the one with a larger cache. You proved thats its a good comparison.
