55nm GTX 260.... will it have 216 shaders? This die shrink will probably bring the GTX 260 another inch closer to GTX 280 territory. In fact I won't surprised if the 55nm 216 core outperforms it.

i noticed that the ram was on the back of my dads gtx 260 as well. and i said that's stupid why would they put it on the back of the pcb?

because sometimes it isn't possible or practical to havs so much wiring just on the top layer of the PCB
remember, the GT200 GPU's have a 512-bit bus, which is quite wide.

It may have also been a heat issue, the new die shrink will mean less heat.

Hopefully prices will come down - they will be cheaper to make...

ati is gonna lower the price of the 4870.. so you best believe the gtx260's will be cheaper

Old ones yes. Even the normal Core 216's..... but what im saying is even though these will be cheaper to make and sell they will still cost more for us.

i wouldnt think so.. the 7900gt's came out cheaper than 7800gtx's, and the 8800gts g92 came out cheaper than the 8800gtx and gts
