Is that enough ram to play most new games, it would be PC2700 at 333mhz

Yes, it is enough.

But it also depends on your processor (clock speed, fsb, etc.).

processor will be an Athlon XP3000+ at 333MHz FSB

Yeah, that is the max speed you can run....just make sure it is 2x 256mb so you can run them Dual Channel

256mb is enough to run most new games, 512mb is enough to ensure that they run nice and smooth

256MB Ram is min requirement.
Especially Win XP user, when start up it use a lot of resources.
At least 512MB Ram to run smooth.
