$300 For Brother's New Video Card - Suggestions?

My brother has decided to upgrade his 5200 to something a little more.... "Less $chiddy"

He wanted to spend about 300 dollars, so I advised him to get a 6800 of some sort -
This is what I came up with.
MSI GeForce 6800 $290

Note: he hasnt bought anything yet.

Are there any other choices for this price range that would be a better performer for the newer games? (IE: D3, HL2, etc.)

i would get the evga one though!!!!! the msi card supports directx 9.0b but it doesnt support directx9.0c

The MSI is perfectly capable of 9.0c specs.

But eVGA is dedicated to graphics cards, MSI is too busy with other things. So I dont buy from anyone but a dedicated Graphics Card Manu.

ok get the msi but its never good to get othermanufactures go wit straight up evga they are the best

I would wait personally, the new line of 512 MB graphics cards are coming out this fall, but there not gonna be for 300$
