20Gb not recognised by hard drive

My 20Gb hard drive that i recently bought is not able to be recognised by my computer. it is only recognising 7.85Gb. Any thoughts on what i can do to rectify this situation.

Hmm never seen that before on such a small drive. Have you made sure to format it and all that good stuff?

Got your service packs all updated and whatnot?

Other than that, I've only come across like 200Gb drives only being seen as 127gb not a 20gb only recognizing 7

this happened to me before, but not 20gb
i had an 80gb, for external and it only recognize 4GB

wut i had to do was format the drive completely and then hook it up as NEW. and walla all my 80gb were there

so erase ur hard drive, format, all of it
and that should fix ur problem

i already have formatted and reinstalled everything after putting in the hdd... thats y i dont know y its not recognising it. any further option/ideas u have

are you using this as extra hard drive or this is where ur OS is located???
