Default 20 pin PS on a 24-pin board

Hey guys. Is it ok to plug in a 20-pin PS (Antec SmartPower lets say) into a 24-pin PCI-E board using 20 to 24 pin adapter? We are simply changing the interface here obviously. That being said, are there any problems that might arise due to power delivery and such?..

Don't really know the difference between v2.0 vs v1.3 power supplies other than the interface.

No major problems should arise. If you do have problems, just buy a 24pin PS.

Just for FYI im running a 24pin Mobo off of 20pin PS, with no adapter.
No problems here.
