Default 2.1 + 2.1 = 4.2? Will this work?

I have a 7 channel card and i was wondering if i hook up 2 sets of 2.1 speakers to it will i be able to get 4.2 surround sound? thx

I dunno exactly know. But i overheard my bro talking about hooking one set as Front speakers, and the other set as Back speakers.

you would get 4.1, not 4.2, dual subs doesnt work nice, you could try though.

I did that once.... worked pretty good, but its kinda tricky to get it all set up correctly.

I took it down cause there were too many damn cables....

Just get a good sound card, they arent very expensive...

he has a 7.1 sound card
I suggest Logitech X620 (6.1) or Z-640 (5.1) speakers

actually im gonna stick with a 2.1 setup for awhile...im goin to the dorms next year and i wont have room for surround sound. im just using 2 sets of 2.1 speakers temporarily while im still at home.
