Default xfx geforce 9600 gso no signal problem

Last week i ordered a xfx geforce 9600 gso video card

XFX PVT96OYHFC GeForce 9600 GSO Video Card - 512MB, DDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, HDMI, DVI, DirectX 10, Includes Call OF Duty 4 Game Disc at TigerDirect.com

and it came 2 days ago. when i plugged this card into my computer with the VGA cord attached to the DVI-I adapter on the card, there was no signal on my monitor. the light on the power button on the monitor stay yellow. I heard a regular 1 beep from my comp when i turn it on and the video card fan spins. i dont see any 6 pin or 8 pin i need to connect with to the psu. i need assistance asap cuz of the rebate time. my PSU is 550w btw. i also tried the DVI-I adapter on my other video card and it works fine.

EDIT: woops i didnt see this post get posted. request delete as i created another one already
