at work, need help quick

I have a computer that I built here about 10 months ago. I spent about $200 and put some spare parts laying around in it. It was for my secretary and I put Vista on it. She let it run out without activating it and ever since it has been sitting around. It worked fine up until this point.

I have Windows 7 now that I am trying to put on it. However, the monitor does not come on, keyboard and mouse also do not light up. I reset the CMOS and nothing changed. What is my next step?

My PSU is one I found in an old computer, about 300W. Using integrated GPU.

Checked and PSU is bad. I'm going down the street to get a new one, should fix it though.

I've had a psu go from working, then takeing a little break for being on, then going bad next time it was booted.

It smells like someone is welding inside my office with the new PSU. Not good.

Check the mobo and hardware, sounds like there is a short somewhere that popped your first psu
