Won't play DVDs
Okay, so I just installed a new motherboard, video card, processor, RAM, and monitor on my PC. Everything went perfectly smooth after I reformatted Windows. I am left with only one problem; My computer refuses to play DVDs now. Whenever I try to play a DVD in Windows Media I get a generic error message and whenever I try to play in PowerDVD, it just freezes then closes the program. Here's the Windows Media error:

Re: Won't play DVDs
I've tried both WMP and PowerDVD. I downloaded the most recent version of WMP that I can run on my computer. What drivers/ codecs should I download?

Re: Won't play DVDs
Look at your drives in My Computer right click the problem drive/select properties/highlight the the drive to view / select properties / Properties tab/
ck allow digital media/ Make sure your in the corect DVD region 1 / If its a copy DVD try it in a regular DVD reader not a Rewriter(Burner) drive Use AnyDVD&AnyDVD Program for Burnners if you experience problems In Power DVD check your settings allow it to Auto set the drive Make sure your master and slave settings are correct in the jumpers. Make sure your ribbon cable is connected properly. Try only 1 CDROM drive for troubleshooting All just ideas to help you solve the problem . |
