I cannot boot up anything because all the devices are now uknown. Previously, te slave drive being plugged in would cause it to fail booting and turn primary and secondary drive 1 unknown. Now, regardless of what i try, primary 1&2 and secondary 1&2 are always shown as unknown devicews. I've tried different cords, hard drivses, but no works...

Hello,

Have you tried resetting your BIOS?
Have you tried booting up with just one hard drive connected to the motherboard?

I'm sketchy at best on that..

yes, in fact i have, but it still fails.

MikeFuryXP sent me..
diskette drive A ...3.5 inch, 1.44 mb

Primary drive 0 ..... unknown device
Primary drive 1 ..... unknown device
Secondary drive 1 ... unknown device
Secondary drive 2 ... unknown device
=(

pull the battery (looks like a watch battery) on the motherboard for 10 minutes to reset your bios to default.

the duracell?
so does it have to be p;lugged in when i do this?
10 minutes? that seems kinda long neh?

also with the power cord out and the CMOS battery out press the power button a few times on the case to clear residual power.....the CMOS is a type of RAM/ROM that when you remove all power, all the user configured settings are lost and everything is set back to default.

Manually set up the drives so they are Slave and Master. Don't use Cable Select
