Default Will this PATA cable still work?

My single device PATA cable came with my MoBo as such:

This isn't such an important part for me, since I'm using the double cable they provided and I have many other cables I can use, but I'm wondering if will still work.

That's called a floppy twist. And that is a floppy cable.
