Will my computer run better?

I have an amd athlon 3700 2.2ghz, with 512mb ram, and an onboard nvidia 6100 128mb. It runs well with most games I tried on there, probably because of my proccessor, but still, I think the gpu gets strained because it shares system memory of 128mb. If I were to upgrade to 1 gig ram, and a 7600 nvidia....will my computer perform better and run most high end games out on the market? Thanks

There are games out there that will eat 512MB of RAM, so adding more will help. Your GPU may be the determining factor of your performance.
