Default Wifi adapter issues

Every time i visit my parents for some reason my wifi on my laptop does not work. I cant figure out why. If i put in a usb adapter it will work just fine but the built in adapter will not connect. It will pick up the connection but will state there is limited connectifity....any help/advice would be great...
