Is this why my computer is freezing?

My computer has been freezing. Especially when I start to play a game. I don't know what the problem is. I looked at my graphics card is not connected to the power supply. Could this be my problem?

My Specs:

eVGA 7600gt

Antec Smart Power 2.0 500w

amd 64 3800

MSI K8N-neo4

The PSU doen't need to be connected to the Video card - there isn't a 6 pin because it doesn't use that much power.

What about your hard drive?

I switched ram sticks and so far it's working
