Why cant I reformat?

I am running on an ABIT KN8 SLi and wish to reformat. My BIOS is PHEONIX Award 6.00PG

I have set it to read from CD ROM and THEN Harddrive... no go
CD ROM then nothing else.... no go.

What should I do?

make sure it's even recognizing the CD-ROM. If it's not seeing it, it won't boot from it.

under a part of the BIOS it should list all things connected such as HD's and CD-ROMs and such so make sure the one you're wanting to boot from is visible in the list.
