Default When I am doing things on Win...

Hi

When I am doing things on Windows xp sp1 , I watch some video's (Avi) etc, and do other things in the background, like surfing the web.

No this is what happens:

Everything suddenly freezes after I press a taskbar button or it freezes just simply on it's own and a single note from the last moment of the video is repeated rapidly. There is nothing else to do than reset.

I haven't had this problem in the past. Is it hardware or video drivers, or what else could the reason be?

thank you

I personally blame windows for being such an unstable brick, I'm not too fond of microsoft as a company but enough of that. you could try reinstalling the OS or just be less demanding with it. it wouldn't hurt to get the latest video drivers for your card and also direct x 9.0c for safety reasons.

Thanks I'll try that , however sometimes updating to latest drivers gives problems also.

What graphics card are you using ?

Cheers

IN most cases though what does sudden freezing and sudden abrupt resetting of the system indicate as the problem >>>???

I've always wanted to know that

cheers
