Any tech bods about that can help me with this?

My computer has died during my busiest work week/month of the year

It crashed, and screen went all gray and black

Now it wont go on. It was beeping one long three short.

So i removed the ram, dustied it and put it back in

Now it beeps 1 long 2 short

I removed the ram entirely and started it and its beeping 1 long 2 short.

Bad graphics?

thanks

Assuming it's running AWARD-based BIOS... then yes, the beep code points to bad video/graphics...though it also depends on what brand/model your system is. If it's a prebuilt system, post the system's brand/model; if it's a custom built system, post the motherboard brand/model.

thanks for the reply

its a custom with motherboard asus m2n68-am

it has two sticks of ram, i've tried booting with each one removed.

I've also remove the graphics card and tried to boot. the motherboard has its own VGA output so i guess it has some built in graphics but that didnt work.

i've also checked all connections and dustied the case and heatsink.

I also tried disconnecting a hard drive

I think it may be the motherboard that is failing me?
