Default Weird problem

First of all, as you can see im new here, googled to try to find a popular forum to solve my problem. Secondly, im not even sure if this is the write area because im not sure if its a hardware problem but maybe someone can shed light on it for me. Anyway here we go.....

Ok first of all I would like to state that my problem is NOT too many programs running and background, when i googled my problem this is the only solution i could find. Now lets get to the problem (which just began all of a sudden for NO reason.) I was browsing the internet, all of a sudden i began to lag horribly (even my mouse was lagging/choppy movement). It goes away but it comes back when i open up a non-demanding program like internet explorer or firefox, of even windows explorer for that matter. It boots up my HDD's and ram and whatnot when i reboot, but when it comes to the windows xp logo, it takes a good 3-5 minutes (sometimes longer) just to load and get to the login screen, then the slowness begins when just opening simple programs like i stated above. I really have no idea what would be causing this and I can't find an answer googling..... figured i would look here since i've been helped here in the past...

Oh yeah my system specs if it helps:
Celeron 2.6ghz
ASRock p4i65G motherboard
1gb PC2100 ram
Nvidia 5200 (im upgrading )

Hope you guys can help solve my problem, because i dont want to dish out money this close to christmas to get this fixed.... I hope i can fix it myself

Edit: oh yeah i forgot to mention, when playing media (music for example) when the mouse lags for that tiny bit, the sound goes into slow motion/stops playing.....

I don't really see any problems with the log, but I'm not an expert at reading it either.

There is a slight chance that Windows Defender is causing the problem.

Next time when your computer starts to lag, open windows task manager and see if anything is using up the cpu.

Well you guys arn't quite seeing the problem... WHen you FIRST start up your pc, the windows xp loading screen ocmes up. It takes 3-5 minutes to load THAT, even before i log into my account. So how can programs cause lag that early?

Well I had the Svchost.exe problem, it was a virus that caused windows to do the exact thing to my computer, it would use 99% of my CPU.
To make sure it isn't a virus see how windows loads when you launch up in safe mode, if it is laggy and slow in safe mode we'll start looking at other problems.

I tried in Safe mode and it still lagged. I took 2 screenshots of task manger, the first is sorted by highest CPU, the second is sorted by highest memory usage

Looks like you got the svchost virus, svchost should never usualy use any cpu.
It's using 78% of your CPU.
I'll look up on how I fixed it, i'll get back to you on that.

http://www.pchell.com/virus/welchia.shtml

That link should have all the information to remove it, although i'm pretty sure once you upgrade to SP2 windows patches and removes the exploit automaticaly.

Good luck.
