Okay after spending almost all day on my computer I have come to a conclusion. My WD 160gb hdd is screwed up. I plugged my uncles hdd into my computer and voila it works (using it to type this). Kinda funny I actually have the two computers sitting next to each other with my cables running to his hdd, at this point I'm just too lazy to swap them[8D]

ANYWAY any suggestions on how I can fix the hdd if its a software problem. Could I just load windows onto the another hdd make it a primary and boot with it to get the data off the WD and then format and see if it works?
I'm pretty sure its physically ok. I just ran a test on it a few weeks ago and its only 6 months old with very little use.

Now I had a second windows installed on the computer somehow a couple weeks ago. It wasn't a fully installed and I just got rid of the window asking to pick which one to load. IS it possible that after getting fragged up and registery changed that my computer is maybe trying to load that one???
