Default video controller?

hi i have just formatted my hard drive,which all went well but in my device manager it has a exclamation mark on video controller(vga) do i need a driver or a video card? my mother board is a amd sempron, but thats all i know really (sorry bit of an amateur), thanks in advance for your help. chris. p.s i have tried microsft updates and a few other sites but just going round in circles? my moniter screen does not scroll smoothly? im thinking that is due to vga?

Download PCWizard, install it and go to the Video Display section once it's running. That will tell you what video card you have and then we can tell you where you can find drivers for it.
