that probabbly means it's thermal adhesive.
don't be scared to use a little force, just twist it and eventually it'll come off. although don't try and pull it up until it's almost off.

you'll be looking for Nvidia's Forceware drivers. they can be downloaded at http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=10

just looked inside the 81.95 drivers. it supports Nvidia video cards starting from the NV11 (Geforce 2 MX400)
