Default Video Card Failure?

Hi
When I play a movie my computer hangs.
Does that mean my video card is ******?

C2d 6420, 2gb ballistix, xfx 8800 gts 320 extreme, zalman 9700, xfi gamer, thermaltake 800, asus p5n-e.
my computer reboots when it's left on overnight too. grrr

It may be overheating. Monitor the temperatures, and post back your idle and load. Or you should update the drivers, for the graphic card.

I updated the driver.
My CPU temp is 32C
My MB temp is 41C
I still can't play a movie.

sounds like video codec failure, not graphics cards

I uninstalled all codecs in add/remove programs.
What do I do to play a movie?

What format is the movie that you're trying to watch? Search for codecs for the extension, or download a codec pack.

I've installed/removed XviD 1.1.3, DivX 6.3, and several codec packs.
