Hello, I'm having some serious performance problems with a Sil 3112 Sata controller, before this let me specifie my system:
AMD sempron 2300+
Asrock k7vt4a+ (has a kt400 chipset)
256 mb ddram kingmax at pc 3200
Geforce 4 mx 440 64 mb
Silicon Image Serial ATA Sil 3112 Controller
Segate baracuda sata 7200rpm 8mb buffer hdd
As you all know mb's with the kt400 chipset don't have sata suport so in order to use my sata hdd I had to buy a controller, the problem is that it works very slow and I made some PC mark 2002 hdd tests to show exactly what is going on:
On Asrock k7vt4a+ and the Sil 3112 controller and the segate sata hdd I get 1088 when only runing the hdd test.
Using the same hdd on a gigabyte kt600 mb I get 1600 (in bouth cases the hdd also runs the OS and is single master)
To mention that an ata100 western digital hdd 7200rpm and 8mb buffer gets 1233.
What is there to do?
Thank you for going through the trouble of reading this.

Thank you for the link but if I'm not mistaking (and I might :) ) there are no windows drivers there, I've been to that link before, googleing "Silicon Image" was my first thought, the only useful thing I found there is the bios update but I already had the latest version.
