Default Usb trouble

I recently installed a new mobo but I can't seem to get my usb ports to work. Is it an error in the plugging of the special usb power cables(I don't know what to call it). Because my case has some plugs that says usb on it but I don't know how to configure them.

when you plug the usb cable into the motherboard, is the connector keyed to make sure it can go in only one way? If its not, try flipping the connector 180 degrees.

You should see a cable coming from the case usb port. Most of them are blue. On your mobo you should see some socket for the usb connector that comes from your case. It should be BLUE in color. Check your manual first though.
