yo I think your ports might be dead... maybe try a USB expansion card?

You don't have your computer inside a case at all?

You could try a USB expansion card and if it works that proves it's the board's USB controller that is the problem. However that would only further prove that it's a bad board. RMA the motherboard it's a bad one.

Exclamation Re: USB or PS/2 Not working $100 Paypal Reward

Hey, I think I had this same problem before. It ****ed me off for quite a while because I couldn't understand why the keyboard was messed up. It wasn't my keyboard that was broken on the screen that says "press enter to install xp." I think you have to use the arrow key to go down to agree to some agreement or something like that and then you can press enter once you agree to the agreement or press F8 or something. (The arrow key is the only key that will work on that first screen.) It should tell you what to do on the screen after you scroll it down. Good luck with it.

Except that he said he can't enter BIOS either so that's not the case.

He doesn't have one of those function-lock keyboards, does he? I've also ran into that.
