I'm having trouble with the USB ports on my Compaq Presario 5726 desktop computer.
Its OS is a fully updated ME. Upgraded from the original 98 OS. 224MB of RAM are installed in the machine. The processor is a Pentium III.
The computer's roughly six years old. It has four USB ports.
I have a working USB mouse plugged into one of them.
The computer has PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports. The newer mouse and keyboard I want to use are both USB though.
**
Whenever I plug more than one USB device into the computer none, including the mouse, work.
I know USB devices share the same IRQ #. Could this be my issue on my relatively older computer?
Is there any setting I have to change, perhaps in BIOS? to get more than one USB device running at a time?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Andy
