usb problem

I got a ti-84 calculator, installed and everything but when i say detect device it searches com port one and two then comes up with no device detected, are com ports usb ports. Any help would be appreciated.

Com ports are not USB ports

So you attached you TI-84 to a USB or a COM port,

look for guides to using that calculators serial cable on the net. there is most likely software you will need aside from drivers.

I installed the drivers it needs, what is a com port then?

I would think the calculator would need a com port and not serial. My TI-86 connects through com port. Another good reason here to use google.
