USB port not recognizing devices

running xp w/ sp2 and the other day my usb port stopped recognizing any devices i plugged into it. I tried my scanner, memory key, mouse, etc....does not recognize anything although it does make a noise when i plug it in. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling usb drivers and nothing seemed to happen. PLEASE HELP!

I am having the same problem, but it only occurs when I try using my new U3 flash drive. The drive pops up but I can't access it. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the drive as well as my mass storage drivers, but nothing has worked yet. In the device manager it even lists the type of flash drive that I am using as well as saying that the device is working properly. Any ideas?
