USB PCI card, usb printer and camera not working

ive resently put in a usb pci card installed all the drivers on a 98 based system. when i plug in any usb cable from my printer a usb key or a camera, nothing responds at all. ive tried reinstalling the drivers, checking the pci card and nothing happens can you help me at all

Does the card require you to directly plug cords into the motherboard? If so, did you? Is your PCI card USB 2.0?

no it has no extra cables no power, just connects through a PCI slot, need to know anything else about the computer?

and yes it is a usb 2.0 PCI card sorry about that missed it off

Have you installed the Host controller for windows 98 ?

yes i have in stalled the host controller for windows 98, it asked for it once the installation had been 95% complete

Sorry I don't have much knowledge of installing USB 2.0 on a 98 system.

For windows XP I would just go get Sp1, go to the device manager, right click the PCI card and press update drivers. There is also a device in WIN98, but I am not sure they work the same. No harm trying.
