~USB not recognized~

i know this is the wrong Forum but here it goes:

i got a Samsung MP3 player which i got free from a cousin. i had to fix it because the USB plug was ripped off, i replaced the missing USB plug and put everything back together.
Now to see if it works, well i plugged it in and a pop up said that USB not recogzined because it might of malfunctioned...blah..blah..blah

i went to the properties and it said error code 45 no USB connected when it is, there is no driver , im guesing its plug n play

wats goin on?

one more thing when its hooked up to the computer it recharges but its not recognized

problem with your connection of the data wires is my guess (the middle two. the side wires are the + and - power wires.

well u cant screw up the power cables and the data cables are suppose to be as it is. The only thing i changed about he cables is that i had to change one of the data cables because it was to short. its a bit thicker which im guessing is a problem

i installed a driver but still no luck, ill try to change the data cable for a thinner one and see wat comes up.
