Default Usb Isp Network Connection

A friend of mines broadband connection is threw a router that has only USB B type ports the same as on printers. Is The USB A-B device cable as used on printers the same for modems/routers, its the cable where one end is standard USB for computer and the other end the wide fatter connector as used on printers. Router doesn't have RJ45 sockets.
